I have decided to focus this study only on a bust. Until now, I had never taken the time to model a character who was not of Western origin. This was probably not a conscious decision, but a matter of comfort in working with features that one sees and studies more often.
However, when I began to research and closely observe different human ethnic groups, I discovered something that I found deeply interesting from an anatomical and artistic point of view. Although the structure of the human body is essentially the same, variations in proportions, volumes, and facial rhythms require a much more careful look.
This exercise has not only broadened my professional horizons, forcing me to study and better understand anatomical diversity, but it has also inspired me to reflect on a personal level. Getting closer, even if only through artistic study, to a culture and features that are different from what I am used to has been a deeply enriching experience.
Human diversity has an extraordinary structural beauty. Each variation in the shape of the skull, the tension of the cheekbones, the construction of the lips, or the relationship between the different masses of the face reveals its own harmony.
Perhaps it is something that can only be fully understood when the artist observes with true attention. And it is precisely thanks to this diversity that art finds an almost infinite field of study, interpretation and creation.
From this broader perspective, we come to understand that all human forms possess their own beauty and coherence. Diversity is not an exception within anatomy, but one of its greatest riches, and for the artist it constitutes an inexhaustible source of learning and inspiration.
